Caroline + Nick

May 17, 2017

I have a new appreciation for many things because of this couple, Caroline + Nick.  They graduated from Clemson University, and as much as I'm a good Georgia fan with the rest of this town, these were some faithful Clemson fans and maybe the most faithful honoring their huge National Championship win with the grooms cake and mascot appearance at the reception.  I also got a whole new appreciation for the beauty and historic value of Emmanuel Episcopal Church near downtown Athens.  Caroline's parents were married at this church, and they have family roots in the history of the church.  The red doors, the stone exterior, the natural light that fills the sanctuary... it was all so so beautiful.

Caroline kept her dress a secret from her bridesmaids so that she could surprise them on the wedding day with what it looked like.  I love that idea and have never seen it done before! It was so fun to see their reaction to Caroline in her dress and their expressions showed how much love they have for her.  On another note, I LOVED this dress.  The simple lines and elegant silhouette made this dress such a stunner.

Caroline and Nick had such a calm and ease to them- you could tell how much people loved them and how supported they were by their close knit wedding party and family.  I loved getting to shoot everything about this wedding... especially the amazing flowers done by European Floral Design.  The flow of the day went so smoothly thanks to Debra Lassiter and the band was SO fun (check out Anita and the Party Life - Anita sang on tour with The Supremes and later, Celine Dion for several years!)  How could you not have a good time at this reception?!  A huge thanks, too, to my talented friend Latetia of June Bird Photography for second shooting and creating beautiful imagery.

This wedding was such a celebration and another reminder that I'm the lucky one who gets to document such special days for families to enjoy for lots of years to come.  And I may pay closer attention to how Clemson does in football next year because of you guys!! Best wishes!!
